LaVanya Thomas is the founder of LaVanya Thomas Ministries and New Life Outreach Worship Center, located in the inner city of Miami, Florida. With more than 30 years in ministry and 13 years of pastoral leadership, Pastor Thomas has devoted her life to serving God and His people with faithfulness, compassion, and bold conviction.

Pastor Thomas was mentored by the late Dr. Mother Ruth E. Creps-Crockett, affectionately known as Mother Ruth, under whom she served faithfully and was spiritually shaped for leadership, integrity, and service.

She serves alongside her husband, Dr. Steven Thomas, who functions as Overseer, providing spiritual covering, leadership support, and guidance for the ministry.

Her work extends far beyond the four walls of the church. Pastor Thomas is deeply engaged in community outreach and collaborates with several organizations, including the City of Miami Police Department. In January 2018, Pastor Thomas and her husband were honored with the Hero Award for outstanding achievement—becoming the first civilians to receive this distinction.

A devoted servant of God, Pastor Thomas carries a profound love for the Lord and a zeal to fulfill His will. Her visionary mandate is to stir up ministry gifts and equip God’s people for works of service, strengthening the Body of Christ toward spiritual maturity and unity.

Known for her evangelistic and confronting preaching style, Pastor Thomas challenges individuals to face real issues, pursue healing, and walk in true deliverance.

Anointed by the Spirit of the Lord, she is called to bring good news to the suffering, comfort the brokenhearted, and proclaim liberty to those in captivity—releasing hope, restoration, and transformation through the power of Jesus Christ.
